User and Application preferences

Application settings

On the top right of the screen, there is a settings link. This link will take you to the settings page. The settings page has two tabs:

My Account
Application settings

My Account

The My Account settings control your personal account settings

Login: This is your login name, which cannot be changed
Name: Your real name, as used in reports, emails etc.
Email: The email address that is associated with this account. We will send you occasional updates and will use this address to respond to feedback and support questions you may have.
Timezone: This is the timezone in which you live. If you schedule events with other people, K12portal will adjust the time of the event to match the timezone.
Password: The password that is associated with this account. Clicking the link will allow you to change your password.
Member Since: How long you have been a member :-)
Last login: Date and time of when you last logged in

Application Settings

Application settings allow you to customize your application to best suit your needs.

Email

Use local email client: When using an email link on k12portal, this setting controls if k12portal will render an email page in the browser, or if it will launch your email program (outlook express, apple mail). Google and Yahoo webmail are currently not supported
Do not receive K12Portal update emails: If you select this setting, you will not receive occasional emails from K12Portal. We will send you email updates related to support or feedback questions you may have posed to us.

Gradebook

Sort Assignments: Controls how assignments are sorted in the gradebook
Sort Students: Controls how students are sorted: by first or by last name
Student scores: Allow or disallow scores to be greater than the maximum points set for assignments

Blog reader

Subscribe to: Provides check boxes for English and Spanish language blogs.
